Beckham Deal Still In The Works

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

images27Despite an ultimatum from the LA Galaxy that a deal be complete before last Friday or the negotiations over David Beckham would end, AC Milan isn’t conceding defeat just yet.

Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti insisted, “We have still got 20 days to close the deal. At the moment Beckham is indispensable for Milan. Galaxy has forced the situation, but there is time before March 9.”

Meanwhile, Beckham is reminiscing about his time with the Galaxy, “I’ve always said I don’t regret things and I don’t regret the two seasons at LA. They might have been disappointing in that we haven’t won anything or even made the play-offs — but I’ve met some really good people and there are really good people at the club.”

At this point it seems inevitable that Beckham will become a permanent fixture in Milan. All that’s left to consider is the family.

“It’s going to be tough for the family because when you have children, the main decision is where the kids are going to be happiest and, to be honest, the kids are so settled in America and so settled in their school.

“Me and Victoria will always put our children before anything. That’s the decision that, if something does happen, we will have to look at. Obviously, if we didn’t have the children, we would move straight away but we have enjoyed living in LA and love living there — and the kids are happy there.”

So, Posh and Becks fans, we can still hold on to the hope that the Family Beckham will at least reside in Cali in the off-season. Little consolation, I know, but we’ll take what we can get.

Milan To Bid For Beckham

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

250px-david_beckham_nov_11_2007On a 2 month loan from the L.A. Galaxy to AC Milan, David Beckham scored his first goal for the team on Sunday in his 3rd match in a Milan uniform.

This is good news for Beckham who hopes to impress England coach Fabio Capello, who will attend Milan’s match on Wednesday to assess Beckham. Bad news, however, for the L.A. Galaxy who, no doubt, would love to have Becks back in LaLa Land when the loan agreement with Milan expires on March 9.

I’m inclined to think that Beckham will stay put and Milan will buy out the Galaxy for his rights. They have made it clear that they want him.

“If he decides to free himself and wants to (stay), we will welcome him with open arms, but he belongs to another club and we’ve got to thank them because they were very kind with us,” Milan vice president Adriano Galliani said, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport Web site.

Beckham, whose goal is to make England’s team for the 2010 World Cup, will play against better competition and get more exposure playing in Europe. In the MLS it seemed he was more of a side-show act paid big bucks to draw a crowd.

If he’s not ready to hang up his boots just yet then AC Milan is definitely a better place to prepare for one last run at the Cup. Though David’s lady love, Victoria, may beg to differ. According to a post on, Posh is none to pleased with the prospect of packing up the kids and moving to Milan. She prefers to raise the couple’s boys in a locale where there won’t be a language barrier, such as London or L.A.

Ronaldo to Real Madrid

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

After recently being named the 2008 FIFA World Player of the Year it seems that Manchester United winger Christiano Ronaldo has agreed to sign with Real Madrid.

The Portuguese-born superstar is pretty much the hottest thing in soccer since, hmmmmmm… let me think… David Beckham.  He’s leaving Man U for Real Madrid, surrounds himself with beautiful ladies, has a habit of experimenting with hair styles, he has it all!

If he continues this trend he’ll be BFFs with Tom Cruise and playing with the L.A. Galaxy before we know it!!

On a serious note, can we take a moment to be thankful and rejoice in the fact that soccer players love to strip their shirts off!cristiano_ronaldo_99?
